Aaron Ramsey
I have seen a couple of articles saying we are favorites to land Aaron Ramsey from Juventus.

He is now 30 years old so still has a couple of years in him, no real sell on value so shouldn’t cost too much.

I always rated him when he played for the Gooners. They were always a much better team with him in it.

Would be a good addition to the team as an attacking midfielder option. Worth a punt.

We might be massively overachieving this season but have people forgotten who our owners are?

Re: Aaron Ramsey
According to my son, who knows him fairly well, he's not bothered about wages, he has more than enough money. Joining Beckham's team could be an option but ultimately he wants to finish his career at Cardiff, where it all began.

Coleen, his wife, is also keen to return to Wales and open a restaurant.

He'd be amazed if he came to West Ham but hasn't spoken with him since Christmas..

Hell no.!
The bloke is supposed to be on 400k per week at Juventus. We don’t need that kind of expense.

I'm not sure signing ramsey is a good idea what with his injury history.
we might be buying another "durham bumper" or wheelchair with no benefit to us.

😂😂 With SWAG written on it! If I was Rice I’d want to stick around for a couple of years and help us achieve something, still young! Even then I’d only consider a big club like Real! Rice is going to be right up there with Luther Matthaus or others of that stature

Don't let Sullivan hear you utter the words "Keep Rice".

Whenever our board see him play, all they see is a big bag of cash running about the field, Tom & Jerry style.

Re: Aaron Ramsey
I would think there is no way this will happen unless we get into the CL and Ramsey agrees to take a massive pay cut. Otherwise maybe Krall would be a good option. However, I think there may be a nice solution much closer to home, and I don't mean Mark Noble. Young Conor Coventry is a cracking midfielder - he has missed most of the season with injuries but is back. Moyes should stop using Noble and give a few chances to Coventry, to take a closer look at him and see what he can do. We've got a player there, I'm convinced of it.

Kral definitely lots of mentions early on in the season but gone quiet now! Maybe Moyes keeping his cards close to his chest! If they’ve got any sense he’s already signed for next season! Need a quality striker and maybe a step up from the U23s, Lingard on a permy keep Rice and take a breath!

ANOTHER SOUCEK IF POSSIBLE?

You mean someone like Alex Kral? Young, hungry and talented, and also Soucek's MATE.

Noone is going to pay him 400k a week
Like Bale if he wants to move he will have to settle for something much much lower

So ... Bale & Ramsey are on a million pounds a week
They should be able to buy Wales soon

Re: Aaron Ramsey
Inevitably doing better in the league than anyone expected means we are being linked with much higher paid players that GSB won't have any funds for as opposed to less well paid players we have been previously linked to that GSB didn't have any funds for. Allegedly

Re: Aaron Ramsey
Have always thought Ramsey was a good player
Can remember the last time we beat Arsenal (1-0 Rice) he came on at h/t and was head and shoulders Arsenals best player.
His agent was able to convince Juventus that because he was free that his salary should reflect the money they were saving ...therefore 400k a week

About 3 years too late and would prefer us to go for a 22-25yo
ANOTHER SOUCEK IF POSSIBLE

Re: Aaron Ramsey
I like Ramsey. Seems a decent bloke and a very good pro. But with us giving Noble another year I fail to see the benefit of this signing. I know Ramsey is more of an attacking midfielder than Noble but I just don't see the benefit of having two veterans in midfield. Especially with the wealth of attacking midfielders we have.

We need to be looking at younger players and keeping up the young British theme.

Re: Aaron Ramsey
Who's his agent? That's always the best place to start.

Represented by the "right man" and half of Sullivan's check-list will already be complete.

John Charles is probably the best example of a British player making a success of it in Italy for Juventus

Hopefully the “ he used to be a good player but isn’t now but we could make him good again “ mentality is a thing of the past

Re: Aaron Ramsey
Good player, but when this move happened it did have a whiff of a good player maybe moving out of his comfort zone and not having the character to be successful at a giant club in Italy. Not many Brit exports pull it off, Bale did, which is probably why he is so lauded.

Re: Aaron Ramsey
With Moyes, I think we'll see the end of us signing ageing and injury prone players. And thank goodness.

Looking back, we went from being The Academy, to being the rest home for semi-retired players on their last hurrah. Thanks for that, Harry.
